Sheerness RNLI Lifeboat launched in dense freezing fog.

The crew of the Sheerness RNLI inshore lifeboat Buster were called by the UK Coastguard at 6.47pm on Sunday 22 January to reports of a small day boat with three persons on board who had become disorientated and had lost their bearings in the dense freezing fog in the area of Queenborough Harbour in the Medway Estuary.

The ILB was launched and made way to the reported area and eventually found the craft in the dense and freezing conditions to the North of Long Point.

With the three occupants reporting that they were suffering no problems the craft was escorted to the Kingsferry Bridge launch ramp and handed over to the Sheppey Coastguard team.

The ILB returned to station at 8.48pm
