Dungeness Angling Association raises £4,100 at the World Dab Championships 2017
On Sunday 12 February the World Dab Fishing Competition 2017 was held at Dungeness organised by the Dungeness Angling Association and £4,100 was raised for the RNLI.
Huge amount of raffle tickets were sold on the day and after the weighing-in at the end, a presentation was made to Simon Newman from ‘Castaways B and B’ Coast Drive, Lydd On Sea who organised the event with the donated raffle prizes and the sponsorship. This is the seventh year this event has happened and Simon has now raised over £35,000 for the RNLI.
Georgie King, Chairlady of the Dungeness RNLI Fundraising Committee presented Simon with a framed Certificate Of Thanks from the Chief Executive of the RNLI.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts.
