Horton and Port Eynon RNLI lifeboat launched to assist boat in difficulty
Horton and Port Eynon RNLI lifeboat volunteers launched to rescue a boat was in difficulty off Oxwich Point.
The Horton and Port Eynon RNLI lifeboat was launched On Saturday (12 August) after and made its way to Oxwich Point where it located the boat, a RIB with eight people on board. Its engine had broken down.
The Rib, with its passengers still on board, was towed back to Oxwich and handed over to the Coastguards. The volunteer lifeboat crew members were Wil Metcalfe, Louise Sullivan and John Tarrant.
Lawrie Grove, Horton and Port Eynon RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, said: ‘I would remind people that when going out in boats it is important to ensure that the engine is regularly serviced.’
