Sheerness RNLI lifeboat called to assist a drifting cabin cruiser
Sheerness RNLI inshore lifeboat was launched to assist a drifting vessel in the River Medway
The volunteer crew of the Sheerness RNLI inshore lifeboat (ILB)’Buster’ were called by the UK Coastguard at 7.57pm on Sunday 2 April to reports of an eight metre unnamed cabin cruiser that had broken down and was drifting in the Medway opposite Rochester Castle.
The ILB located the craft with two men on board at 8.35pm.
Both the men reported they were ok and stayed on board their craft which was then taken under tow by the ILB and secured at the Chatham Maritime Marina pontoon where a crew from the Medway Coastguard unit were waiting to meet them.
