Beaumaris lifeboat launched to assist police & coastguards at the Menai Bridge.

Lifeboats News Release

At 7.40 am on Wednesday 28 September at the request of H. M Coastguard the volunteer crew members of the R N L I Beaumaris lifeboat were paged to attend an incident involving an individual at the world famous Menai Suspension Bridge.

The Beaumaris Inshore Atlantic 85 Lifeboat Annette Mary Liddington launched at 7.50 am and made her way to Menai Bridge.
 
In the meantime representatives of North Wales Police, and a mobile coastguard response team from Penmon had commenced a search ashore for the missing person..
 
Fortunately in this instance the service of the lifeboat was not required as the incident was resolved when the person was located safe and well on land by the police.
 
The lifeboat returned to Beaumaris by 8.56 am being refuelled and made ready for further service by 9.25 am.

The charity welcomes people from all walks of life and no previous sea-going experience is needed to join the lifeboat crew. The RNLI provides fantastic training to turn ordinary people into lifesavers. By volunteering with the RNLI people will gain some great experience, knowledge and skills.
 
Beaumaris RNLI are always looking for new volunteers to help run the lifesaving service.  If you are aged 17 or over, physically fit, work or live within 10 minutes of the lifeboat station and eager to join a lifesaving organisation then please come by and say hello.

The volunteers meet every Thursday evening  at 6.00pm for their weekly training exercises, please call in and see us if you are interested.
