Littlehampton RNLI respond to call to swimmer in difficulty.
The coastguard received a telephone call from a member of the public reporting there was a woman in the sea just west of Butlin’s in Bognor.
Littlehampton’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Renée Sherman and volunteer crew launched at 11.50am on Saturday 24 September.
The swimmer was reported to be in difficulty and suffering from a medical condition and required urgent assistance.
The lifeboat and crew headed out in good weather conditions towards the reported scene. During the journey the crew received a further report from the coastguard advising that the casualty was safely on the beach and in the care of the ambulance service.
The lifeboat was stood down and returned to the station at 12.10pm where it was made ready for service.
