R N L I Beaumaris lifeboat launched to a report of a fire on-board a boat.

At the request of H. M Coastguard the volunteer crew members of the R N L I Beaumaris lifeboat launched to a report of an explosion and possible fire on a vessel moored near Port Dinorwic.

The crew of Beaumaris Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat Annette Mary Liddington were first paged at 5.46 pm and the lifeboat launched at 5.50 pm and proceeded at the maximum safe speed to the incident.
 
Once on scene the lifeboat evacuated the sole occupant of the craft to the shore in the meantime two members of the North Wales Fire & Rescue service where taken to the craft by the marina safety boat Once on seen they established that the vessel was not on fire and thus it was safe to tow the boat.
 
The Beaumaris lifeboat then towed the vessel into the harbour at Port Dinorwic so that the fire service and the mobile coastguard team from Bangor could inspect the vessel more thoroughly.
 
The coastguard then released the lifeboat and she arrived back at Beaumaris lifeboat station at 7.05 pm was refuelled and prepared for further service by 7.35 pm.
 
The volunteers meet every Thursday evenings at 6.00pm for their weekly training exercises.
