Santa and the Elves Deliver For Kinghorn RNLI

This new event took place on Saturday, and the route took in part of the golf course boundary. The one mile course was designed to be suitable for the whole family.

Adult runners received Santa suits, and younger supporters wore Elf hats for the event, which made for stunning scenes in the perfect sunny weather. Following the event, participants were served refreshments at the annual Mince Pie Tea in the Church Hall, which was organised by the Station’s Fundraising Committee.

Event organisers, Richard Malcomson and Megan Davidson were delighted with the support and number of runners. Megan said, ‘Our first ever Santa Run was a fantastic success. I’d like to thank everyone who came along.

‘We had all ages taking part from regular runners to young children being pushed in their prams! It was great to see such diversity all coming out to take part.

‘Following the obligatory warm up, we took the Mannequin Challenge on the start line with all of our supporters taking part which was great fun. We have a video of the event on our social media platforms.

‘We raised £400 for the RNLI, and coupled with £1,000 collected at the Mince Pie tea, we had a successful day helping to fund the RNLI. It costs around £460,000 per day to run the service around the UK and Ireland.

‘We’d like to thank everyone who helped make the event such a success, including Kinghorn Golf Club who provided facilities for us to register entrants and get the Santas ready.’
