Fishguard RNLI assist UK Coastguard to recover injured seaman
Both Fishguard RNLI lifeboats were involved in the transfer of an injured crewman from a fishing vessel moored alongside the quay in Fishguard Harbour.
UK Coastguard requested the launch of the two lifeboats shortly after 1am on Thursday (18 November) to assist the Fishguard Coastguard Rescue Team to facilitate the transfer of a crewman who had sustained a head injury aboard the fishing vessel Chris Tacha, which was tied up on the quay in close proximity to the Fishguard RNLI Boathouse.
The crewman was moved to the all-weather lifeboat and then to the inshore lifeboat thereby enabling him to be moved up the RNLI's slipway to the awaiting ambulance and avoid having to climb a steep vertical ladder.
