Eastbourne RNLI lifeboats benefits from town's half marathon

Mike was given a conducted tour of Eastbourne’s all-weather lifeboat Diamond Jubilee before he presented the cheque to Lifeboat Operations Manager Carl Pocock and volunteer lifeboat crew members Dave Needham and Dean Parker.

Eastbourne lifeboats were one of four local charities to benefit from this popular event which attracts hundreds of runners of all abilities. Organisers are hoping the 2017 event (entries are already being accepted) will break the 2000 entry barrier.

Eastbourne has celebrated over 185 years as a lifeboat station and currently operates an all-weather Tamar Class lifeboat ‘Diamond Jubilee’ and an inshore D-Class lifeboat ‘Laurence and Percy Hobbs’.
