Moelfre RNLI volunteer crew receive generous donation

A local fundraising group have made a substantial donation to assist the Moelfre RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew in saving lives at sea.

Moelfre fundraising volunteers; organisers behind the popular Moelfre lifeboat day; who last year raised over £8000 recently donated a cheque for £5,000 to Moelfre RNLI Lifeboat Station. The donation will be used to fund training equipment.
 
The fundraising group, which has been established for many years, has raised in the region of £100,000 for Moelfre RNLI in the last decade and this latest donation and gift will provide additional funding and equipment to assist the volunteer crew.
 
Moelfre fundraiser and lifeboat day event organiser Mandy Dales said:
 
‘On behalf of the Moelfre Lifeboat Day Fundraising Group we are pleased once again to be able to support the RNLI Moelfre Lifeboat Station.’
 
Volunteer lifeboat helm Alan Owen commented:
 
‘As a crew it is very humbling to see volunteers not only crewing our lifeboats but specifically fundraising for the RNLI to help us do what we do best.’

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts.
