Kinghorn RNLI lifeboat station has received a donation of £600 from local company Burntisland Fabrications, as a result of good health and safety performance.
At a presentation on Thursday, the cheque was presented to Sheona Smith and Helen Wilson of Kinghorn Lifeboat’s Fundraising team.
The money was the result of a joint venture between BiFab and AMEC Foster Wheeler to distribute funds on a monthly basis to local groups. The awards depend on the health & safety performance of the workforce.
Kinghorn fundraising chairperson, Sheona Smith said ‘We were nominated by staff member William Duke, of Burntisland Fabrications (BiFab) as an appropriate winner of the Safety Recognition Programme Award.
‘Health and safety is very important, and the RNLI is currently running a campaign called ‘Respect the Water’ to raise awareness of coastal risks, and reduce the number of fatalities around the coast of the UK and Ireland.
