Poole all-weather lifeboat assists diver after rapid ascent

With the all-weather boat training in Poole Bay, Solent Coastguard requested the lifeboat to rendezvous with the dive vessel.

At the entrance to the main channel to Poole Harbour the dive vessel maintained a course and reduced to six knots whilst the all-weather boat manoeuvred alongside. Two crew along with a first aid kit and oxygen kit were transferred. The diver was generally feeling well and put on free flow oxygen.

As the dive boat was making a similar speed to the lifeboat and with lifeboat crew on-board, both vessels returned to Poole Quay to a waiting ambulance. The casualty was then transferred to a re-compression chamber.
