Dedicated fundraiser supports north east lifeboat stations
Volunteer lifeboat crew based at Peterhead’s Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) station have been presented with a donation of £25,000 by a dedicated supporter of the RNLI, Audrey Wood.
The donation is to help fund the requirements of RNLI stations in the North East of Scotland.
Audrey is a dedicated supporter of the RNLI, and her efforts over the past number of years have raised over £100,000.
These funds were primarily raised from a “Glamour, Glitz, and Bubbles” event organized by Audrey held in March in Aberdeen where 250 ladies enjoyed an excellent meal, entertainment, dancing and fun.
Volunteer crew from various North East stations went along to support this event, and not only did they tell the audience about their life-saving work and how much they appreciated the support of the audience, they also entertained the ladies by acting as dancers and waiters during the event.
The RNLI is a charity that relies on voluntary donations and legacies from the public for its income.
