Arbroath lifeboats evacuate ill fisherman
Both Arbroath lifeboats were launched yesterday evening (8th June) to assist in the evacuation of a crewman that had taken ill on board a fishing boat located close to the Bell Rock lighthouse.
A request for lifeboat assistance was received from HM Coastguard at 8.50pm and both the inshore and all-weather lifeboats were quickly launched.
Once on scene, the RNLI volunteers transferred the casualty from the fishing boat to the all-weather lifeboat, Inchcape, and he was brought back to Arbroath harbour before being transferred into the care of waiting ambulance crew.
