Dungeness lifeboat tasked to MFV broken down with electrical power failure
Dover Coastguard paged the lifeboat at 8.19am on Tuesday 7 June tasking them to a 7m. MFV (motor fishing vessel) broken down 22 miles south of Dungeness Point with two persons on board.
Once on scene, Coxswain Stuart Adams in command of the relief RNLI Shannon class lifeboat 13-07 ‘REG’ with his volunteer crew assessed the situation and he decided they should tow the stricken vessel to Hastings to allow the Hasting’s RNLI Mersey class lifeboat 12-007 to continue the tow on to Eastbourne as Dungeness lifeboat would be getting too far from their patch.
