Both Eyemouth RNLI lifeboats called out to assist divers
Aberdeen Coastguard launched both Eyemouth's lifeboats shortly after 5:35pm on Sunday 24th July 2016 in order to assist three shore divers who were trying to swim to shore but were struggling against the strong tide.
The inshore lifeboat was first on scene and quickly located the three divers who were clinging to a marker buoy, just to the south of Eyemouth. The divers were taken onboard the inshore lifeboat before being transferred to Eyemouth lifeboat, where they were checked over and taken back to Eyemouth.
Once no further assistance was required, both boats were then stood down and made ready for service again, 30 minutes after the initial call out.
