Criccieth RNLI Lifeboat searches for stranded walkers

At 4.45pm on Friday the 15th of July, 2016 volunteer crew members from Criccieth's RNLI Lifeboat Station launched their inshore rescue boat following reports of two walkers stranded on a sandbank near Portmeirion.

The Station's inshore rescue boat, Margaret a Nantw, was transported to Borth y Gest for launch and was quickly on scene, alongside members of the local HM Coastguard team.  The Lifeboat conducted a search from Portmeirion upstream towards Briwet Bridge.  

Following an extensive search, it was decided that the walkers had come ashore of their own accord as no one​ could be seen on the sandbanks locally.
