Poole inshore lifeboat launches to reports of two people in water

The alarm was raised by a Poole lifeboat volunteer who was working in the harbour, the two people had been out on their Hobie Trimaran which had suffered damaged to its outrigger, causing the boat to capsize, in the swell.

When the lifeboat arrived on scene , the lifeboat volunteer, working on a vessel near by had recovered the people from the water, two lifeboat crew checked the casualties over, they were cold, but okay.

The crew brought the stricken vessel back to Fishermans dock and landed the casualties safely ashore.
Conditions out in the harbour were choppy with brisk blustery westerly winds, force 4- 5 and there was a plenty of swell.

The lifeboat returned back to station and was ready for service just before 16:00hrs.
