Teignmouth’s RNLI lifeboat responds to person immersed in water

Teignmouth’s RNLI lifeboat launched after it was reported that a person was immersed in the water near Teignmouth Pier on Monday, 4 July 2016.

The request to launch by HM Coastguard was received at 7.55pm and the volunteer crew launched rapidly. The female casualty had been brought ashore by members of the public and when the lifeboat crew arrived they administered medical assistance until the ambulance crew were on scene.

The casualty was given CPR. She was later pronounced deceased.

Police are dealing with the incident.​
