The Ramsgate RNLI lifeboat was chosen as the local Sainsbury's store's 'Charity for the Year' during the summer of 2016 and the station's fundraisers have taken part in several events there since. The store's customers have always been generous in their support, however, the amount collected during the pre-Christmas collection amazed all involved. In addition to the amount collected RNLI souvenirs totalling £207.55 were sold.

Jan Pearce, the Ramsgate lifeboat fundraisers collection organiser, thanked the store management and staff for their support and all members of the public who had given so generously.
