Oban lifeboat assists vessel adrift
Oban lifeboat Mora Edith MacDonald was diverted from a training session at the request of Stornoway Coastguard on the 22nd August to investigate reports of a boat which had engine failure South of Oban.
The exercise was abandoned and the lifeboat made best speed towards the casualty. Once underway it transpired that the casualty was under tow by the SEPA ship; John Murray. Upon arrival the tow of the casualty was transferred to the lifeboat. The casualty vessel was then towed by Oban lifeboat to Oban Marina where it was safely transferred to a pontoon.
