The volunteer crew of the Tobermory lifeboatElizabeth Fairlie Ramsay were launched on 10 August 2016 just after 1230pm to assist a power boat experiencing fuel problems in the Sound of Mull, between Tobermory and Lochaline.
The small power boat with one person on board, had reported to Stornoway coastguard that they were experiencing fuel problems with the engine and were in need of assistance. On arrival at the casualty vessel's location a tow was established and the vessel safely recovered to Tobermory harbour. At 2.30pm the lifeboat returned to the berth and reported back on service.
