Montrose lifeboats launched to assist injured man on Montrose beach

The two Montrose lifeboats, with their volunteer crews were quickly on the scene at the beach where colleagues from HM Coastguard, Angus and Mearns had already put the man into a stretcher. The casualty was transferred to the inshore lifeboat and taken out to the all-weather lifeboat and taken to Montrose lifeboat station.

Both lifeboats returned to the station at 11:30pm where the injured man was transferred to an awaiting ambulance.

Both lifeboats were re-fuelled and made ready for service at midnight.
