Sunday afternoon call for The Mumbles RNLI lifeboat

The volunteer crew of the Mumbles all-weather lifeboat were called to the aid of a nine meter powerboat with engine failure.

The boat, with five crew on board was cruising in Pwlldu Bay when the engine failed. 
 
Deputy second coxswain of the Mumbles lifeboat James Bolter said:
 
'The skipper of the vessel did everything as he should. The crew all had life jackets on and they dropped they're anchor immediately. Unfortunately the anchor wouldn't hold and in the onshore wind the boat was in danger of being washed up on the rocks.
 
‘We managed get to him within 10 minutes of launching and got one of our volunteer crew on board.'
 
The vessel was then towed to Swansea Marina.
