‘Every time a wave dumped down on us, I honestly thought we were going to die.’

In this week’s episode, we saw Perranporth RNLI lifeguards rescue three casualties from a flash rip current. Amanda and her young son, Ellis, were enjoying a swim when they suddenly found themselves being dragged out to sea. Hear from them as they talk about the terrifying ordeal and thank the lifeguards who saved their lives.

Swanage: Fallen off a cliff

 

In the second rescue of this episode, we watched the lifeboat crew from Swanage rush to the aid of a person who had fallen from Old Harry Rocks. Watch this video for advice on how to keep yourself and your family safe around cliffs.

Newhaven: Taking on water

 

We also saw Newhaven lifeboat crew respond to a call from a fishing vessel that was taking on water. After transferring a lifeboat crew member onboard, they were able to escort the vessel to the safety of the harbour. Any time of day or night, lifeboat volunteers are ready to save lives. Chiswick and Teddington: Marine mammal emergency

 

In the final callout of this week's episode, we saw lifeboat crews from Chiswick and Teddington work together with the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) responding to a distressed Minke whale, stranded in the Thames.
