RNLI Mullion Island Swim 2026
The RNLI Mullion Island Open Water Swim is a one mile open water sea swim around the Mullion Island on the Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall.
This iconic 1 mile open water swim is a fundraising event and entrants are required to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship for the RNLI The RNLI Mullion Island Open Water Swim is a one mile open water sea swim around the Mullion Island on the Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall.
This challenge is a must for all sea swimmers and promises to be great fun. All money raised will go towards supporting our Volunteer Lifeboat Crews and Seasonal Lifeguards.
This popular event is strictly limited to 150 swimmers and is open to anyone over the age of 14. Please note, participants should be intermediate or experienced open water swimmers. Registration for the swim is £40 and we ask everyone to pledge to raise at least £100 through sponsorship, as every pound raised will support our volunteers in saving lives around our coast.
The swim is a fantastic event largely run by volunteers, without whom it wouldn’t be possible. It promises to be great fun with a fantastic atmosphere, so do come along and get involved. If swimming isn't your thing but you would still like to be involved, please get in touch as there are many volunteering opportunities available on the day.

- You must be at least 14 years of age on the day of the event to enter.

You will provide and wear your own wetsuit at the event.

No swimmer will be allowed in the water without a wetsuit on. We recommend wearing a swim-specific wetsuit, which will provide extra buoyancy and warmth
- You must be able to swim at least one and a half miles in open water conditions, depending which distance you agree on the day to swim.
- You must attend the safety briefing before the start of the swim.
