Janet Cooper OBE FCG FGE

Janet Cooper is a corporate lawyer whose client work focused on advising some of the world’s largest companies on corporate governance, executive remuneration and employee share ownership. Janet was a partner with City law firm Linklaters for over 20 years until 2011 and then founded a specialist law firm from which she retired from in 2020.
Janet is the Vice-Chair on the council of Roehampton University and Chair of its Remuneration Committee. Janet is also on the boards of Proshare and the Global Equity Organisation. Janet was a Trustee and Vice President of the UK Board of UN Women, which is the United Nations entity supporting gender equality globally.
Janet was a member of the RNLI Resources Committee from 2011 to 2014. She was elected to the RNLI Council and appointed as a Trustee in 2014. In 2020, Janet was elected as a Deputy Chair of the RNLI. Janet was appointed Chair of the Remuneration Committee in 2019.
Janet was made an OBE in the 2017 New Year’s Honours list for services to equality, women’s empowerment and employee share ownership.
