Janet Cooper OBE

Janet Cooper is the senior partner of law firm Tapestry Compliance. Before co-founding Tapestry, she was one of the first women partners at global law firm Linklaters. She has more than 30 years’ experience as a lawyer specialising in corporate governance and remuneration, advising many global businesses. 

She is the Vice-Chair on the council of Roehampton University and on the board of a number of other non-profit organisations. Janet was a Trustee and Vice President of the UK Board of UN Women, which is the United Nations entity supporting gender equality globally.

Janet was a member of the RNLI Resources Committee from 2011 to 2014. She was elected to the RNLI Council and appointed as a Trustee in 2014. In 2020, Janet was elected as a Deputy Chair of the RNLI. 

Janet was made an OBE in the 2017 New Year’s Honours list for services to equality, women’s empowerment and employee share ownership.
