Ross Barraclough
Ross is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, who started his career with Caterpillar where he had the opportunity to travel the world as part of a global benchmarking exercise. He then moved to Wood Group, ultimately leading their Gas Turbine Component overhaul business in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Engineering & Supply Director
Prior to joining the RNLI as Head of Region – North & East in 2022, Ross was a Regional Director for Sulzer, a Swiss engineering firm specialising in large scale and often highly complex rotating equipment projects in all corners of the world. He has an MBA from Warwick Business School, a Masters in Science from Cranfield University, and an Engineering Degree from Strathclyde University.
Ross was appointed Engineering & Supply Director, initially on an interim basis, in October 2024. During the past four months, Ross has very much proven he has the leadership style and engineering experience to be successful in such a pivotal role within the Institution, and to take forward the vision for RNLI 2040, our ongoing strategic priorities, and the drive for continuous improvement.
Ross currently lives in Northumberland with his wife Claire and two sons. The family is planning to relocate to Dorset later this year.
