Securing the stricken vessel to mooring

The pagers sounded at 1.31pm on Saturday 2nd May as the volunteer crew of inshore lifeboat (ILB) Craig Steadman were tasked to reports of a vessel with possible mechanical difficulties a mile off Barmouth beach.

Launching into slight seas with good visibility from the New Holland tractor the volunteer crew swiftly made their way towards the stricken vessel.

On arriving on the scene the crew assessed the situation and with no means of restarting the engine, the crew of ILB Craig Steadman took the vessel under tow to Barmouth Harbour where they were handed over to the Harbour master.

The volunteer crew returned to the boathouse where Craig Steadman was washed down and readied for service.
