Christmas Tree Festival raises almost £600 for Swanage RNLI
The annual St Aldhelm’s Christmas Tree Festival has raised almost £600 for Swanage RNLI following their event in December.
Hosted by St George’s Church in Langton Matravers, the festival ran for three days last December, and welcomed local charities and organisations to decorate a tree for visitors to enjoy. Swanage RNLI mechanic Scott and his daughter Tilly stepped up to decorate the RNLI tree for the second year in a row, making their own RNLI themed decorations for visitors to enjoy.
The weekend raised money for local charities, this past year selecting Swanage RNLI and Purbeck Youth Music, who also provided entertainment for visitors.
Swanage RNLI Lifeboat Station would like to thank the organisers of the St Aldhelm’s Christmas Tree Festival, and everyone who visited and donated, for the very generous donation of £594.08 that has been made to the station.
Information for Editors:
From humble beginnings with just 17 trees on display and pre-recorded festive music in 2017, the St Aldhelm Christmas Tree Festival has grown year on year, raising over £10k for a range of charities and now showcasing live local musical talent.
