The Whitby RNLI duck race is back!
Pick your duck, make a donation and you could win a cash prize while raising funds for the RNLI.
On Sunday 25 October, at 1.30pm the ducks will be released in the beck in Sandsend Valley, and race, with only the power of the flow of the water behind them.
The first three ducks to reach the finish line will win a cash prize:
1st place: £100
2nd place: £50
3rd place: £25
To take part it is £2 per duck and tickets are available from Whitby Lifeboat Station, Whitby RNLI shop and museum, or from our volunteer crew.
All proceeds go to the RNLI helping to pay for things like vital training for our volunteers, essential equipment and kit.
Station coxswain Richard Dowson said: We hope lots of people can attend this family friendly event, it is a bit of fun and a great way to raise money for the charity - we just hope we don't end up having to rescue any ducks that end up in the sea!'
