Lyme Regis RNLI seeking senior volunteer managers

The Lifeboat Operations Manager (LOM) plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day ability of the lifeboat crew to fulfil its primary purpose of saving lives at sea. The LOM provides leadership of the operations team and ensures that all operational activities are carried out to maintain the lifeboat and associated equipment in a constant state of readiness for launching on service. The successful candidate needs to be a good communicator with clear leadership skills and ideally live or work within 10-15 minutes of the lifeboat station. Local maritime knowledge is also desirable.

The Chair of the Fundraising Branch leads the team of volunteer supporters who work throughout the year to generate vital funds for the RNLI lifesaving charity. The role involves the recruitment and encouragement of new supporters, management and organisation of events to promote the charity, and chairing fundraising meetings The successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm, have excellent management and communication skills, and be confident speaking in public.

Chair of the Lyme Regis Lifeboat Management Group, Petrina Muscroft said: These are very important positions which are fundamental to the continued success of our lifeboat station, both operationally and financially. We are an accomplished team of volunteers who have delivered on and off the water for 200 years. We are now looking for senior managers to continue our lifesaving mission into our third century.’
