Cheddar tyre company comes to the aid of Burnham-on-Sea RNLI volunteers

Launch Authority Phil Council explains; ‘We suffered a flat tyre on one of our launch vehicles at Burnham RNLI Lifeboat Station which meant that we going have major issues launching our Atlantic 85 lifeboat.

Phil adds;’ I rang Redline Tyres at 2.45 on the Friday afternoon and they were with us at 09.00 am on Saturday morning, when competitors offered Tuesday call out at the earliest , due to it being a Bank Holiday Weekend. Thank you for allowing us to stay on service on the Somerset coast because of your prompt response.

A 8.5m Atlantic 85 named Doris Day and Brian plus a smaller 4.95m D class IB1 inflatable named Burnham Reach The station was opened officially on 15th May 2004, but has been operational since December 2004.
