Islay RNLI called to fouled yacht
At 10.43am on Thursday 29 October Islay RNLI were tasked by UK Coastguard to a yacht fouled on fishing gear southeast of Eilean a' Chùirn off the southern coast of Islay.
Five Islay RNLI volunteer crew launched the all-weather lifeboat The Helmut Schroder of Dunlossit II. With no further assistance required the lifeboat was stood down and returned to station.
The lifeboat was safely moored back at Port Askaig and was ready for service by 1.05pm.
If you see somebody in trouble on the water or along the coast or think that they are in trouble, use marine VHF radio Ch 16 or dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
