Sold-out Hastings RNLI quiz night boosts Mayday appeal
Volunteer fundraisers from RNLI Hastings lifeboat station have raised more than £1,000 for the charity’s Mayday fundraising appeal after hosting a sold-out charity quiz night.
Organised by RNLI fundraising volunteers, the evening also included a raffle and raised more than £1,000 for the charity that saves lives at sea.
Volunteer fundraising lead Bob Morrison said:
‘We’re absolutely delighted with the amount raised and very grateful for the effort our team of volunteers put into making the evening such a success. The quiz has been running for years, and it continues to be a fantastic way of bringing people together to support the RNLI and our lifesaving work.’
“These events could not happen without the support of the public who buy the tickets and contribute to the raffle. Thanks to them it was once again sold out!”
As the charity that saves lives at sea, the RNLI relies on public donations to fund its service, with all money raised helping support the crews around the coast of the UK and Ireland.
The Hastings team has also revealed that several rare and special items linked to the music industry have recently been donated to the lifeboat station. The volunteers are now planning a special, exclusive fundraising event centred around the high-value items, with further details expected to be announced soon.
