Lifeboats News Release

Congratulations to Alan Welsh, who successfully completed his incredible 8-hour RNLI cycling challenge on Sunday 10 May.

Simon Travers

Setting off from Llandudno Lifeboat Station, Alan spent the day cycling continuously between the station and the Pier Gates, covering an impressive 80 miles along Llandudno Promenade. Through his determination, fundraising efforts and the generosity of supporters, Alan has raised an outstanding £1,622.67 for the RNLI.

The challenge was supported throughout the day by RNLI crew members, fundraisers and volunteers, who gathered to cheer Alan on at both the start and finish. Friends, family and members of the public also came down to the promenade to show their support and encouragement.

Completing an 8-hour endurance challenge is a remarkable achievement in itself, but to also raise such a fantastic amount for the RNLI makes Alan’s effort even more special. Everyone at Llandudno RNLI would like to thank Alan for his hard work, dedication and support for the charity.
