Having joined the station late last year, Vicki has shown strong commitment both in training and on service, balancing her role at the station alongside her work as an apprenticeship advisor at a local college.

The Tier 1 assessment is a significant stage in ILB training, designed to test a crew member’s knowledge, practical ability and decision-making in a range of operational scenarios. Assessed by Local Trainer Assessor Bert Williams, it ensures that crew are ready to operate safely and effectively in real incidents.

Following this achievement, Vicki will now progress to Tier 2 training, continuing her development towards full operational competency on the lifeboat.

Local Trainer Assessor Bert Williams said: “Vicki has put in a huge amount of effort since joining the station, and that has really shown in her assessment. She approached it with the right attitude, stayed calm under pressure and demonstrated a solid understanding of what is expected of her. This is a well-earned result and we’re looking forward to seeing her continue to develop as a crew member.”
