Margam Women’s Instate donate £500 to RNLI following community talk
Margam Women’s Instate generously donate £500 to RNLI after a series of fundraising events, alongside community talk given by Port Talbots’ Lifeboat Operations Manager.
Yesterday (Thursday 5 March), Port Talbot Lifeboat Operations Manager Clive Morris attended the meeting of Margam Women’s Instate at St Theodore’s Church Hall. Clive delivered a community talk about the work of the RNLI and the lifesaving efforts carried out by its volunteer crews.
Following the presentation, Clive was presented with a cheque for £500 by Tricia Davies on behalf of the Margam Women’s Instate. The funds were raised by members through a series of raffles and coffee mornings organised by the group.
Clive expressed his gratitude for the generous donation, emphasising the importance of community support to the RNLI’s work. Clive said:
‘Without the help of members in our community, the work of the lifeboat station would be much more difficult to undertake.
‘Our crews respond to their pagers at any time of day or night and go out to rescue people at sea.
‘In that sense, the women of Margam Women’s Instate are lifesavers too, as their fundraising provides vital funds that help us continue our lifesaving work.’
