Inshore lifeboat checks on paddleboarders
A well-meaning observer spotted three paddleboarders in the dark at the north end of Swanage Beach. With the possibility that they could be in trouble, the inshore lifeboat (ILB) was launched to check on them.
The RNLI and HM Coastguard always encourage members of the public to alert the emergency services when they suspect someone might be in trouble along the coast or on the water, even if it turns out to be a false alarm. Dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard. Better safe than sorry!
