Tenby lifeboat assists paddleboarders struggling against the tide

Lifeboats News Release

Tenby's all-weather lifeboat was launched at 2.30pm on Saturday 4th July, after the Coastguard were alerted to two paddleboarders that were in difficulty at Box Bay, near Broadhaven.

The volunteer crew covered the nine mile distance in around 20 minutes and soon found the paddleboarders ashore at Box Bay.

The casualties, who had left Broadhaven earlier in the day, but had been unable to make headway against the tide to get back to Broadhaven, were picked up by the Y-boat, before being dropped back onto the beach at Broadhaven.

The lifeboat was then stood down to return to station, arriving just before 4pm.
