In a building north easterly wind, the 29' boat had grounded by the time the ILB arrived. The HM Coastguard were on scene with the solo crew who was safely ashore.

Being just after high water, the tide was set to ebb for several hours, leaving little choice but to help the owner set an anchor as far out to sea as possible. This would help prevent the vessel from being driven further up the beach and give it a chance of being re-floated at the next high water.

With no-one in danger and the vessel secured, the ILB was released to return to station.
