You would become part of the charity’s ‘One Crew’ ethos liaising with the water safety team, museum and shop team and operational crew to ensure joint participation in our fundraising events.

As well as this you would be responsible for planning and delivering a calendar of RNLI events aiming to engage with the local community and visitors to Eastbourne and build partnerships with local businesses to increase awareness of local lifeboat services and the work of the charity. All in the ultimate aim of raising vital funds for the RNLI.

You would join an enthusiastic team of volunteer fundraisers and be responsible for managing them as well as using a variety of methods to recruit new volunteers.

Recent and upcoming events that the fundraising crew have been involved in include a collection at Eastbourne railway station plus the upcoming annual 999 services weekend on the Western Lawns which always draws a large crowd.

Graham Dent, volunteer fundraiser said of becoming a volunteer fundraising coordinator ’the RNLI is a charity that depends on voluntary donations and gifts in wills, so joining the Fundraising Team at Eastbourne RNLI is a great way to help raise money to support the important work of saving lives at sea and on the water. It offers the opportunity to make new friends, and to participate in a series of local outdoor activities, events and collections, and indoor displays and presentations, while also liaising with local communities and businesses to increase awareness of, and encourage support for, the lifeboat services.'
