World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) is coming up on 10 September. The theme of this awareness day remains ‘creating hope through action’: it only takes a small action to help give someone hope.

Join a lunch and learn on Wednesday 14 September at 12:30pm as we continue to look at the RNLI’s work with vulnerable people and how we can look after ourselves and each other within our charity.

This event will take place on Microsoft Teams. Please contact your RNLI manager or [email protected] ahead of the event to get the link to join.

If you can't make it, a recording will be available afterwards, which your RNLI manager will be able to share with you.

What will the lunch and learn involve?

We will hear from people across the RNLI who have bravely shared their advice and stories of finding help and hope after lived experiences of suicide, both personally and professionally. We will also have guest speakers from the Samaritans and Pieta.

At the end, we will have some time for questions.

Getting support

If you’ve been affected by the issues in this event, it’s important to get support. Speak to your GP, your RNLI manager, or look at the other support options available on the Wellbeing page.

Some of the RNLI's Mental Health First Aiders will be available during the lunch and learn to provide support.
