Are you in the know about insurance if you fundraise for the RNLI?
The results of a recent internal audit show that it’s important that if you fundraise for the RNLI that you take a few minutes to refresh your knowledge about insurance guidelines and any forms you may need for these activities.
This means that you’ll be kept up-to-date on what to do if incidents occur when fundraising which will help protect the reputation of the RNLI and help you to quickly resolve any issues you may face.
Are you organising a fundraising event?
It’s a busy time of year for fundraising events as Mayday has begun, so please take a look at the fundraising guidelines and the types of events that you can organise.
Many events are automatically covered by the RNLI Public Liability Insurance when a risk assessment has been completed before the event. Please make sure that the risk assessment document is available on the day of your event so you can check that all the mitigations are carried out. Some events will need to be referred to insurers for approval and may require a more in-depth risk assessment, for instance in the case of all waterborne activities.
For more advice and tips for your event, please refer to the fundraising guide or the MyStore website.
We appreciate the time you’ve taken to refresh your knowledge about the guidelines available and insurance you need to have when driving, travelling abroad or fundraising. If you have any questions, please contact Ania at [email protected] or call her on 01202 663124, or email [email protected].
