Remember them fondly

By holding a funeral collection you’ll make sure your loved one’s memory lives on through the work of the RNLI to save lives at sea.

On this page you will find the information you need to create a funeral notice, order funeral collection envelopes or to pay in donations.

How to order donation envelopes

Many people choose to ask for donations to the RNLI in lieu of flowers in memory of a loved one.

We can send you special collection envelopes, making it easy for friends and family to donate at a funeral or memorial service.

When you use donation envelopes, you can raise 25% more at no extra cost because we can claim Gift Aid on donations from UK taxpayers.

Funeral directors are usually happy to collect the envelopes on your behalf and arrange for them to be sent to the RNLI.

To order donation envelopes, please get in touch with our Giving in Memory Team – we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Create a funeral notice

You may wish to set up an online funeral notice to share with family and friends.

As well as containing the details of the funeral, you may wish to use the page to collect donations in lieu of flowers.

Your online space is also a tribute fund and can be used to celebrate the life of your loved one, through the sharing of photos and memories if you wish.

How to pay in a funeral collection

If you haven’t used donation envelopes, a quick and simple way to donate a funeral collection or make a one-off donation in memory is to use our online donation forms.

If you prefer to donate over the phone or by post, simply contact our Giving in Memory Team who are always here to help you.

Thank you

In memory donations help our courageous volunteer crews save lives at sea and come home safely.

With 95% of our total income coming from donations, including legacies and in memory gifts, we couldn’t operate our lifesaving service without the support of you and your loved ones.

On behalf of all our lifesavers and the thousands they rescue every year, thank you.
