You can save lives on Lough Ree
Will you stand with the crew and help fund a new lifeboat station?
Lough Ree is home to one of Ireland’s busiest lifeboat crews. But they operate from temporary facilities and urgently need a permanent, new base to continue their lifesaving mission.
Your kindness today can give people the best chance of survival by helping to fund a new, purpose-built lifeboat station that will enhance lifesaving here for generations to come.
Why we need you onboard
Lough Ree volunteer crews have been rescuing people from the lake’s 28km stretch of inland water since 2012, launching more than 370 times and helping over 1,060 people. But they operate from temporary shipping containers and urgently need a new, purpose-built station with modern facilities for casualties, crew and craft.
The RNLI is a charity and funded by donations. That’s why the crew are counting on your generosity to help them raise €100,000 towards cost of this new building. It’s an exciting project and a chance for you to be part of an enduring legacy – something truly special.
By helping to fund this new lifeboat station, you’ll be enhancing search and rescue in the area. You’ll be boosting water safety and education activities in the community. You’ll be standing with the crew and making a lifesaving difference.
A new lifeboat station will make a huge difference to our lifesaving service here in the local community. It will provide excellent training and changing facilities, and help us launch safely and efficiently every time. With you by our side, we can carry on our rescue mission.
What your kindness will provide
You’ll be helping to create a permanent station near the existing slipway at Coosan Point – crucial for the efficient launching and recovery of the lifeboat. You’ll enable slicker operations and improved crew safety, training and comfort. You’ll also bring the RNLI’s lifesavers under one roof with the Inland Waterways Association of Ireland (IWAI) and the formation of an exciting partnership for the future on Ireland’s Shannon waterway.
- Secure boathouse for lifeboat, launch tractor and trailer
- Crew training and meeting rooms
- Changing facilities, showers and WCs
- Offices and operations room
- Workshop and fuel storage facilities
How you can help
RNLI volunteers donate their time and energy to provide a 24/7 search and rescue service. But it’s your kindness that keeps them safe and gives them what they need to save lives.
Your donation today, no matter how small, will make a huge difference – not only to the crew and those in trouble on the water – but also to the wider community and those volunteering behind the scenes at the station. Thank you from everyone at Lough Ree RNLI.
Your gift today will go towards funding the new station. Any funds raised above the €100,000 target will be used across all RNLI services, wherever they’re needed most. They will make a huge difference to all our lifesavers – and the people they rescue. Thank you!
