Educating kids about water safety is fundamental to saving lives at sea and a core part of our prevention work. The more young people we can reach with our water safety messages, the more lives we can save now and in the future. As a teacher or youth leader, you really can make a lifesaving difference.

Take a look at our wide range of educational materials and lesson plans for young people of all ages. From 3-18, there are materials tailored for every age group covering a variety of different subjects. As well as being educational, you can use them to help teach the young people in your care how to stay safe in and around the water.

Educational visits

Did you know you can arrange a visit from an RNLI lifesaver? Or pay a visit to a lifeboat station? You can book a session with a youth education volunteer or organise a visit to one of our many lifesaving locations. There’s no better way to inspire and engage young people with the work of the RNLI.

Activity sheets and posters

We have a variety of different downloadable materials to educate and entertain. From quizzes and games to colouring in sheets, there’s all sorts of activities to choose from. Not only are they fun, they contain important water safety advice too, so they’ll be learning something they can use outside of the classroom.
