Poole inshore lifeboat assists grounded yacht

Poole volunteers were tasked at 18.10 to assist a 40ft Dutch Yacht with two people on-board which had got stranded in the shallow waters between Jerry’s Point and Goathorn Point in Poole Harbour.

The vessel had been there since the morning, but had decided to wait for the high tide due around 19.00hrs.

Once on scene, the lifeboat attached a towline and freed the vessel, the vessel was able to re-float and continue it passage to Goathorn.

The lifeboats returned back to station and were ready for service by 19:00hrs.
