For over 100 years a lifeboat station has provided search and rescue cover for the scenic coastal area around Clogher Head. The station now operates an all-weather Mersey class lifeboat.

Clogherhead RNLI responds to call out to assist windsurfers
Clogherhead RNLI was requested to launch at 10.27am this morning to Blackrock Bay in Dundalk. Rescue 116 was also tasked. The alarm was raised with good intent by people on the shore. The lifeboat was stood down a mile from the scene when it was reported that the windsurfers were not in need of assistance, were safe and well and had made their own way ashore. There were rough sea conditions at the time and visibility was good.

Clogher Head RNLI called out to Drogheda Bar for sinking razor boat
Clogherhead RNLI  responded to a report that a Razor Boat with two crew on board was sinking off the Drogheda Bar.  When the lifeboat arrived on scene the crew had already been evacuated by the Drogheda Port Pilot Boat.  The Razor was submerged with part of the hull exposed. The lifeboat crew located the EPIRB and collected the debris from the water.
